Efforts are underway to raise $100,000 for a revamp of the playground at Simonds Elementary School!

As many of you know, the Simonds School Playground update has been in the works since the unfortunate loss of the historically favorite giant slide. Over the past year, we have developed a plan for both the design and how we hope to attain funds to execute the playground project.

Above are the two structures that we are hoping to add to the playground. We will need to move some of the current structures to make room for these and to adhere to current safety standards. Some of our current structures will also need to be refurbished to fix broken plastic and peeling paint.

With our newly acquired 501(c)3 non-profit status, the Warner PTO is now able to accept tax-deductible donations. We have established a dedicated playground savings account at Sugar River savings bank to which all of our playground fundraising will be directly deposited.

Last year the PTO voted to kick off the new Playground fund with a $5,000 donation. Upon the approval of our 501(c)3 status, we were also generously granted a $5,000 donation from the Sibley Wilkins Trust.

We understand that the Simonds Parents and Families alone cannot solely fund our playground efforts. With the help of our community at large, we hope to attain both tax-deductible donations and sponsorships.

On December 8th, the PTO is hosting a Playground Pop-Up Holiday Shop. We will also be selling Raffle tickets for $50 each with a cash price of $1,200 that will be drawn at the event.
